Who We Are

SKATEmovement is an organization that runs empathy-based anti-bullying programs, in which older students teach younger students concepts such as kindness and empathy and also familiarizes these children with tools that can enable them to better handle tough social situations.  Our programs are geared toward affecting a cultural shift toward kinder, gentler communities.

Our mission is to reduce the impact of bullying by empowering high school students to lead younger children down a more empathetic path. By allowing teens to take ownership of the lessons, they and the young children they mentor take pride in their new roles as allies and role models in the community, and thus change the climate to one of kindness and understanding.

Driven by the desire to make their town and others like it a more empathetic place for children to grow up and inspired by the excellent work of the Anti-Defamation League, the creators of SKATEmovement developed curriculum for high school students to give to younger, impressionable children.
